Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 - CALICUT TO WAYANAD [85 Km | 02.30 Hrs]

On Arrival at Calicut Airport / Railway station you will be greeted and picked up by our driver and drive to Wayanad – a famous north Kerala destination set lofty on the majestic Western Ghats with altitudes ranging from 700 to 2100 Meters above sea level. The etymology of the word Wayanad is Vayal (paddy) Naad (land) making the name as “Land of Paddy Fields” enroute to visit at Lakkadi View Point- ‘Gateway of Wayanad’, which is a famous picnic spot in Wayanad, offering a bird eye view of the lush green surroundings. Also Lakkadi View Point is known for its Nine Hairpin Curves which offers a splendid view of the Mountains in Wayanad. Thereafter visit at Pookode Lake - which is one of Kerala’s beautiful freshwater lakes spread across 13 acres. Pookode Lake is an ideal location for nature lovers and photographers. Then proceed to Banasura Sagar Dam - constructed in 1979. Located at the foot of Banasura hills, the dam gives an astonishing view of the surrounding areas including hills and forest (Boating activity can be done at Banasura). Then visit at Karlad Lake - It is the third largest fresh water lake in Kerala and second largest lake in Wayanad after Pookode Lake (Here you can do some adventure activities like Zip line and other activities). Later in the afternoon check in at Resort and overnight stay.

DAY 2 - WAYANAD SIGHTSEEING

Morning by 06.00 Am visiting “Muthanga wild life sanctuary” – one of the most famous wild life sanctuaries of Kerala. A jeep drive arranged by forest department takes you to visit this famous sanctuary. The park houses a great elephant population of this region. The park is spread over 345 sq km in area which is rich in fauna and flora, and comes under the Project Elephant. Various species of deer, monkeys, birds etc. too are found in the Muthanga Wild Life Sanctury. The trees and plants in the sanctuary are typical of the south Indian moist deciduous forests and west coast semi evergreen forests. Returning to hotel after the visits then finish your breakfast and check out and proceed to visit at Edakkal Caves- after trekking 4000 ft up to the mountains brings you to the natural caves of Wayanad. Edakkal Caves portrays the prehistoric settlements and civilizations- Neolithic and Stone Age. Thereafter will visit at Soochipara Waterfalls- also known as Sentinal Waterfalls, is a picturesque and breathtaking waterfall situated in Vellarimala, Wayanad, Viewers can swim, bath and indulge in recreational activities at the Soochipara Waterfalls. Then will move to Wayanad Heritage Museum its also known as Ambalavayal Heritage Museum is a museum at Wayanad. This Museum displays tribal relics and artifacts. There are Four sectors of the museum—the Veerasmruthi, the Gothrasmruthi, the Devasmruthi, and the Jeevanasmruthi—house different types of items ranging from the New Stone Age to the 17th century. Then proceed to Airport / Railway station to catch your flight / train back home. You can take back some good memories and can cherish those memories forever
